Job Summary


The Operations Director is responsible for setting direction, policy and procedures for Operations workstreams based upon corporate level strategy, while ensuring Operations support shows value and contributes to the overall success of the company.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Cape Canaveral.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Direct the organization's operations activities including avionics, machining, and supply chain that support the development or improvement of technical products, systems, or processes that meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Plan and oversee operations projects related to the entire product lifecycle and coordinate relevant activities with stakeholders.
  • Monitor schedules and deadlines and prioritize projects to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction (both internal and external).
  • Manage operating costs and project budgets and identify processes, technologies, or materials to improve cost-savings or operational efficiencies.
  • Develop policies and procedures to guide the testing and production of new products or processes.
  • Lead initiatives with other departments to research, plan, and schedule potential products, projects, or opportunities.
  • Remain informed of new technologies and processes and implement changes to improve operational capabilities.
  • Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Ten (10) years’ Operations functional experience.
  • Supply Chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Five plus (5+) years’ experience in an Operations management role.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid response times.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, as well as provide direction and support to the various Operations disciplines to achieve program milestones and objectives.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to communicate effectively, both internally with technical staff, peers, and executive management as well as externally to customers, industry peers, and competitors.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing in an office environment.
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Ability to travel < 10%
