We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides support and services to Correctional Clients as they reintegrate into their home communities. We operate residential and other correctional programs throughout Wisconsin that provide case management, counseling and treatment groups, vocational training and high-risk client monitoring and supervision.

ATTIC Correctional Services is seeking an organized, people-focused Recruiter / Human Resources Assistant to join our Human Resources team at our Administrative office in Madison. This position plays a key role in attracting and hiring talented employees who support our mission of providing high-quality residential and community-based services.

What You'll Do

As a Recruiter / HR Assistant, you'll help guide candidates through the hiring process while supporting a variety of Human Resources functions, including:

  • Create and manage job postings across multiple recruiting platforms
  • Screen applications and identify qualified candidates
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate the hiring process
  • Assist with interviews and candidate evaluations
  • Conduct background and reference checks
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and hiring criteria
  • Support the employment offer process, including start dates, compensation details, and onboarding
  • Maintain employment records and assist with HR administrative functions
  • Help ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and agency policies
  • Represent ATTIC at college career fairs and recruiting events
  • Assist with recruitment strategies designed to attract and retain outstanding employees

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources or a closely related field strongly preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
  • Two to three years of Human Resources and/or recruiting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is beneficial
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a good driving record
