Job Description
San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Student Worker, hourly positions for our two college campuses (San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College) on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year.

Student worker will assist in general office and event duties including answering phones, making phone calls, filing, organizing equipment and supplies, providing program information, and assist program staff, students and potential students for the District College Corps program.
Representative Duties:
  • Providing program and general college information.
  • Assisting students and potential students in office and at events
  • Assist with answering phones and making phone calls
  • Assist with completion of special projects and events
  • Assist with filing and organizing.
  • Assist with other related duties.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Student must have the ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Student must be available to work 10 - 15 hours per week in 3-4 hour shifts or blocks of time.
  • Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units both Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Ability to follow directions in order to carry out the duties as assigned.
  • Familiarity with various equipment/tools/resources used in the department.
  • **Paid work opportunities cannot be used towards College Corps student fellow service or training hours completion.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Evidence of experience with and understanding of the College Corps Program and services provided.
  • Fewer than 30 hours total commitments (including this role) per week outside of class obligations.

Employment Requirements
The person selected for hire will be required to complete the following pre-employment requirements:

  • Sealed official transcript(s) in envelope from institution or electronic copies emailed directly from institution (for positions with higher education requirement)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment
