Job Description
This position will primarily be dedicated to non-profit customers. The position assists the Director of Meetings with all meeting planning tasks including coordinating annual meetings, seminars, and/or board meetings for the organization. May be involved with site selection, registration, participant accommodations, and event planning. Will perform tasks related to speaker management, registration management and attendee support. The following items consists of the major tasks this position will perform:
• Assist the Director of Meeting Planning
• Plan Administrative events
Board meetings
International Council meetings as needed
Hotel arrangements for
Board meetings
Individual meetings with board members
Officer Meetings
• Assist with a major 4500 attendee annual event, including but not limited to:
Speaker Management
Registration Management
Attendees Support
ICW Resource (FUN Run, Golf, etc.)
Housing
• Plan multiple domestic regional events
• Plan international regional events
• Other meeting related tasks requested by customers as delegated by Director of Meetings.
• Become proficient in utilizing Socious tools as they relate to meetings and events
Qualifications
Eligible candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree. 1-3 years of experience in meeting or event planning highly desirable. Demonstrated work towards a CMP is a plus. Very strong interpersonal skills are required for this position. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are crucial. Candidate must be a team player with the ability to work with other staff members, vendors and the membership. Must be able to organize and coordinate multiple projects. Critical thinking and ability to work independently are necessary. Candidates must have intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel and email. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Preferred Skills
Bi-lingual candidates speaking at least one of the following languages are highly encouraged to apply:

Additional Information
Benefits:
  • Socious covers the full cost of an employee's medical, dental and vision insurance. Additional dependents and family coverage optional and at cost to employee.
  • Employees are eligible to participate in our 401k plan immediately. Socious will match contributions at a rate of 100% of the first 3% of salary and 50% of the next 2% of salary. All matching is vested immediately.
  • Employees accrue 8 hours of time off per month (12 days per year). This time may be used for either sick days or vacation. At any time, an employee may borrow up to 40 hours of future accruable paid time off. Socious observes 9 paid holidays each year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve Day). Plus, two Floating Holidays to be used at your discretion.
