Position Description
Department Information:
University Events (UE) follows university priorities to plan, support, and execute meetings, events, and programs on campus. A one-stop shop operation, UE coordinates the efforts of support areas on behalf of event sponsors. University Events provides a high level of customer service to event sponsors while managing limited space and other resources in service of the University mission.
Position Information:
The Event Operations Crew will provide services for the Event Operations Setup and Technical Services Unit. They will be responsible for physically setting up equipment needs for all on campus events. While working in small teams, you will take visual diagrams to accurately setup both furniture and technology needs for events on campus.
The Event Operations Crew will be expected to:
  • Setup furniture and technology needs for events
  • Follow specific details of diagrams
  • Work in a team environment
  • Follow a schedule in a timely manner
  • Train new student employees
  • Manage inventory
  • Complete on-site deliveries
  • Assist customers with technology needs
  • Troubleshoot technology issues
  • Test equipment before events
  • Other duties as assigned

The person who assumes this position will work throughout the BSU campus and will develop several skills such as teamwork, communication and independence as they may work under limited supervision.
