Position Overview

The Event Operations Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all banquet, tournament, wedding, and special event operations across Cascata and Serket.

This position provides leadership and operational oversight for banquet and event service teams, ensuring every event is executed with exceptional attention to detail, luxury-level service standards, and seamless coordination. The Event Operations Manager serves as the primary operational link between event planning and event execution, translating strategic objectives into memorable guest experiences.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, organizational excellence, adaptability, and the ability to effectively manage multiple high-profile events in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the execution of all banquet, tournament, wedding, and corporate events across both properties.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards, product quality, and timely event delivery consistent with Cabot’s luxury hospitality expectations.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with Venue Coordinators to confirm staffing requirements, event timelines, menu selections, room setups, rentals, décor, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Venue Coordinators, Beverage Managers, Culinary Leadership, and General Managers to ensure seamless communication and event execution.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules with Beverage Managers to effectively deploy the regional on-call banquet team across both properties.
  • Conduct pre-event planning meetings and operational reviews to identify opportunities, address challenges, and ensure event readiness.
  • Monitor banquet facilities and event spaces for cleanliness, maintenance needs, and overall presentation standards.
  • Partner with property leadership to proactively address facility improvements and enhance the guest experience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop banquet and event service team members.
  • Provide direct leadership and support to all  event personnel[TF1.1].
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and administer disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence.
  • Communicate company initiatives, operational changes, and updated policies to ensure alignment across both properties.
  • Promote employee engagement through effective communication, recognition, and team development initiatives.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Monitor event volume forecasts and staffing requirements to maximize productivity and labor efficiency.
  • Manage labor deployment and scheduling practices to ensure operational effectiveness while controlling costs.
  • Maintain a structured scheduling process that promotes accountability, fairness, and clear availability expectations among on-call team members.
  • Support departmental budgeting initiatives through effective labor management and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and service consistency.

Culinary & Beverage Collaboration

  • Partner with Culinary and Beverage leadership to ensure menus, service standards, and event execution plans align with guest expectations.
  • Provide operational feedback regarding menu functionality, event flow, and banquet service execution.
  • Participate in client tastings and pre-event planning sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and memorable event experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience in banquet, event, hospitality, or food and beverage operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and scheduling personnel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
  • Hands-on banquet and event execution experience.

In addition, the ideal candidate will be or have:

  • Experience managing banquet operations across multiple properties or departments.
  • Experience within luxury hospitality, resort, private club, or golf operations.
  • Strong understanding of labor management, event logistics, and service standards.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing multiple priorities and demanding event timelines.
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
