Job description

Event Manager
S.A.F.E. Management | Atlanta
The Job
S.A.F.E. Management staffs and operates event security and guest services at nearly 70 venues across 11 markets and 10 states. That includes major NFL and college stadiums and arenas in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Baltimore, Detroit, Newark, and Denver. On a busy weekend we have 20,000 team members working live events around the country.
The Event Manager leads event execution in their market. You own the plan, direct the coordinators and supervisors who carry it out, and serve as the primary S.A.F.E. point of contact for the client on event day. When something goes wrong, the decision is yours to make.
This role is a step toward running a venue. We hire Event Managers who are already operating like the next level up, and we expect you to develop the people underneath you as you go.
What You'll Do
Lead Events

  • Own the client relationship for your assigned events, from advance planning through post-event follow-up
  • Build the event plan: staffing model, post assignments, event-day documentation, and contingency planning
  • Direct coordinators and supervisors during events and hold the team to S.A.F.E. standards
  • Make the call on day-of problems: call-offs, gate changes, crowd flow, client requests, weather, unique event operations
  • Lead the pre-event briefing and run the debrief so the next event runs better

Lead the Team
  • Own recruiting for your venue or market, including sourcing, applicant tracking, and interview scheduling
  • Lead New Hire, Returning Staff, and Leadership trainings
  • Develop the coordinators and supervisors on your team, including performance feedback and readiness for more responsibility
  • Handle staff questions and escalations in real time, on and off site
  • Set the tone on professionalism and accountability that the team follows

Run the Back End
  • Strong operators are organized operators and this sets the tone for game and event day
  • Oversee event creation and scheduling in our workforce management platform
  • Ensure crew calls are submitted and reconciled accurately in the timekeeping system
  • Ensure completed events are invoiced promptly and accurately
  • Ensure office calls and emails are answered in a timely manner
  • Maintain clear, organized event documentation so another team member can step in and run the event if needed

Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in event operations, venue operations, event security, or a similar field
  • Direct experience leading a team on event day, with a clear track record of taking on responsibility beyond your title
  • A track record of competing on a team. Athletics, a campus organization, or an early job where your performance was measured and other people depended on you
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to communicate in front of a crowd, with clients, and to senior-level leadership
  • Detail oriented, proficient with Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly pick up new systems
  • Available nights, weekends, and holidays as our schedule follows the entertainment and events calendar
  • Passionate about the sports and live entertainment industry

Why S.A.F.E.We operate nearly 70 venues in 11 markets across 10 states, with the vision to continue to grow. This creates real responsibility early in your career. It also means a track to grow with S.A.F.E. is available for those who want it: managers can cross-train across the portfolio and go on to run venues, and our strongest leaders go on to run markets
We offer:
  • Benefits: Health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off
  • Relocation assistance
  • Direct exposure to venue leadership, clients, and league/event-level operations
  • A career track across a national portfolio

ScheduleStandard office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required for evening and weekend events, trainings, and interviews. This position reports directly to the respective market's Managing Director.
We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
