Position Summary
As a part of the operations team, the Facility Operations Technician is responsible for assisting with arena conversions, building maintenance, and various facility-related projects. This role involves setting up and tearing down events, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facility, and performing routine maintenance tasks. This Operations professional works closely with the operations team, Director of Operations and Operations Manager to ensure events run smoothly and the venue is maintained to the highest standards.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $14.50 to $15.50

About the Venue
The Rio Rancho Events Center is a multi-purpose arena located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, capable of hosting a wide variety of events including concerts, sporting events, trade shows, conferences, and family shows, with a capacity for up to 7,500 people depending on the event setup; it features 26 luxury suites, a large club lounge, and is considered a key part of the city's downtown area.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in arena conversions for various events, including concerts, sporting events, and conventions.
  • Perform general building maintenance tasks such as painting, light repairs, and equipment upkeep.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including stage assembly, seating configurations, and floor installations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, equipment, and public spaces.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure a secure environment for staff and guests.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests during events as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in event setup or facility maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.

Physical Demands:
  • Requires frequent walking/standing (possibly uneven surfaces), climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, working in cramped positions reaching, pushing, pulling, driving, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Ability to frequently and safely climb and navigate stairs, work on roofs and catwalks over 50ft high.
  • Good eye and hand coordination and reflexes for the safe operation of equipment.
  • Good visual acuity with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse on a computer.

Work Environment:
  • This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building, as needed by events and is subjected to changing climate and adverse weather conditions.
  • The worker is subjected to noise. Noise levels will vary depending on job task and events in the building.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of tools, such as sharp wheel cutters, reamers, drills, grinders, and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts & boom lifts, etc.
