Job description

Interested candidate MUST have verifiable experience operating a truck with a hydraulic trailer.

We are seeking a hands-on Event Operations Team Lead to coordinate and support both large- and small-scale public events within Center City districts. This role is responsible for overseeing event preparation, execution, and post-event operations, serving as an on-site lead to ensure timelines, safety standards, and operational expectations are met. During periods without scheduled events, the Team Lead will support the Parks Operations team with preventive maintenance and park improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of large and small public events
  • Serve as on-site lead and primary point of contact during assigned events, coordinating staff, internal teams, and vendors as needed
  • Prepare event equipment, materials, and infrastructure in advance of scheduled events
  • Transport, load, unload, and arrange event equipment including tables, chairs, barricades, tents, staging, and related materials
  • Ensure proper storage, cleaning, minor repairs, and readiness of all event assets following each event
  • Take ownership of event operations from start to finish, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met
  • Supervise and manage event staff during event operations
  • Support Open Streets programs, rentals, marketing activations, and sponsored events
  • Assist with site preparation, layout execution, space conversions, and post-event restoration
  • Support the Parks Operations team with preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and park-related projects during non-event periods
  • Report equipment damage, facility issues, or safety concerns promptly
  • Follow all organizational safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and operational policies

Work Schedule:

  • Work hours vary based on event schedules
  • Availability required for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and perform regular manual labor
  • Ability to operate a Ford F-250 with trailerย in urban/city conditions
  • Ability to tow and operate a heavy-duty hydraulic Meridian trailer
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and basic equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience leading or supporting event operations, facilities, parks, or field-based teams
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to perform basic repairs, equipment adjustments, and preventive maintenance
  • Strong attention to safety, detail, and organization
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience operating vehicles, trailers, or equipment in public or park environments preferred
