About the role
The Senior Events Manager is responsible for planning, detailing, and executing a portfolio of high-touch and complex events across Hotel Bardo Savannah and Recess Hotel & Club. This role serves as a trusted client partner throughout the planning process, ensuring each event is thoughtfully organized, accurately communicated, and seamlessly executed.
As a senior individual contributor, this position manages some of the department's most complex programs while serving as an experienced resource to fellow Event Managers. The Senior Events Manager partners closely with Sales, Culinary, Banquets, Rooms, and Operations across both properties to deliver exceptional guest experiences and support event revenue and profitability.
This role is based in Savannah.
What you'll do
  • Manage a portfolio of complex corporate meetings, social events, group programs, and select weddings across Hotel Bardo and Recess Hotel & Club.
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout planning, detailing, execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Lead planning meetings, site visits, tastings, and consultations while translating client needs into clear event plans.
  • Create and maintain accurate Banquet Event Orders, timelines, diagrams, guarantees, billing instructions, and other event documentation.
  • Partner closely with Culinary, Banquets, Sales, Rooms, and Operations to ensure seamless communication and execution.
  • Anticipate event needs, manage changes, and resolve client or operational challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Manage event budgets, minimums, billing details, profitability, and appropriate upsell opportunities.
  • Build strong client and vendor relationships while serving as an experienced resource to fellow Event Managers and Coordinators.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive event, catering, conference services, or event management experience, ideally within a luxury or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing complex corporate, social, group, and catered events.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet operations, BEOs, timelines, diagrams, guarantees, billing, contracts, and food and beverage service.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills with a polished, client-focused approach.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills across Sales, Culinary, Banquets, Rooms, and Operations.
  • Experience with Delphi, Opera, Cvent, or similar systems preferred, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
