Whether it is a hometown or destination wedding, an intimate soiree or a grand philanthropic event, Jackson Durham can orchestrate all of your event decor needs.

Job Description

Interested in learning about the event industry? Want to know the ins and outs of event design and operating a highly successful small business? We are looking for an outgoing, detail-orientated, hard working and creative intern to join our team at Jackson Durham Floral and Event Design in Dallas. 


Through our internship program you will learn everything there is to know about the event design industry and what it takes to run a small business. As a Jackson Durham intern, you will gain experience in the following areas: sales, marketing, customer relationship management, accounting and finance, event design, project management and more! Interns have the opportunity to contribute to every facet of our growing company, and Jackson Durham is always accepting resumes for spring, summer and fall internships. 


Some things you can expect as a Jackson Durham intern: 

o Client qualifying and interaction 

o Proposal writing and editing 

o Creating event schedules, budgets and event checklists 

o Organization of vendor, client and event files 

o Invoicing and corresponding with the accounting department 

o Understanding event day timelines and project management 

o Utilize sourcing skills to assist in placing orders and processing orders 

o Working select weekends on events from install to breakdown 

o Social media networking 

o Brainstorming and problem-solving 

o Creative design 

o Site inspections 

o Vendor coordination 

o Manage Jackson Durham's creative blog 

Qualifications

Jackson Durham Internship Program requirements: 

o Must be a student at a 4 year university 

o Full semester or full summer commitment 

o Must be located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area 

o School credit must be given 

o Serious interest in the event design industry 

o Exceptional writing and communication skills 

o Great work ethic 

o Must be responsible, dependable and professional 

o Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs 

o Organization and time-management skills
