POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Cake Decorator
Reports to: Bakery Manager or Bakery Crew Leader
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cake Decorator is responsible for preparing, decorating, and finishing cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other specialty desserts according to company standards and customer requests. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills to ensure high-quality products that meet both visual and taste expectations. The Cake Decorator also assists with merchandising, special orders, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods to company specifications and customer requests.
2. Design and create custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special events.
3. Maintain consistency in product appearance, flavor, and quality.
4. Assist customers with orders, design ideas, and product selection.
5. Ensure cakes and decorated items are properly displayed and merchandised.
6. Rotate product and maintain accurate labeling to ensure freshness.
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area, tools, and equipment.
8. Assist bakery team members with baking, packaging, and stocking as needed.
9. Follow company food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
10. Monitor inventory of decorating supplies and communicate needs to the Bakery Manager.
11. Meet production and service deadlines to support customer demand and special orders.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager.
