Cake Decorator  LOCATION: Gila River Business Enterprises COMPENSATION: $19 per hour HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, Full-TimeFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptSUPERVISORY: NoREPORTS TO: Grocery - Assistant Manager______________________________________________________________________________ Summary:  The Cake Decorator is responsible for designing, decorating, and preparing high-quality cakes and specialty baked goods in accordance with customer specifications and established store standards. This role ensures visually appealing and consistent product quality to enhance customer experience and promote bakery sales. Responsibilities:  Customer Service: Greet customers promptly and courteously at the bakery counter while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor during all interactions.Collaborate with customers on design ideas, themes, and specifications for custom orders.Ensure timely completion of custom orders and communicate effectively about order changes and pickup times.Assist customers with selections, answer questions, and provide informed recommendations and pricing.  Department Operational Support:Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods with icing, fondant, and decorative elements. Fulfill custom orders, including themed and special occasion items. Ensure smooth daily operations and that production goals are met.Assist in maintaining an appealing and fully stocked bakery case.Contribute to overall cleanliness and organization of the bakery, including refrigeration units, storage areas, and prep stations.Provide support in opening and closing procedures, including temperature logs, cleaning checklists, and inventory checks.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding custom orders and product availability.Follow departmental procedures, food safety standards, and operational guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across the bakery department. Inventory and Stocking: Monitor decorating inventory such as icing, fondant, cake boards, and specialty items.Inform leadership when stock levels are low and assist with restocking supplies.Ensure proper product rotation, labeling, and dating to comply with food safety standards. Equipment Operation and Safety Compliance:Operate decorating equipment including mixers, airbrushes, turntables, and piping tools according to safety guidelines.
