Job description

The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking an outstanding Events & Catering Manager to join our team at our premier senior living community. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional who is passionate about creating memorable dining and event experiences while serving a vibrant senior population.

Position Overview

The Events & Catering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all catering and event activities involving Food & Beverage. This position works closely with residents, dining leadership, and kitchen staff to ensure every event is executed with excellence, professionalism, and care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate all catering and event activities involving Food & Beverage
  • Consult with residents and staff to determine event needs and preferences
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to develop menus and ensure all event requirements are met
  • Collaborate with the Dining Room Manager to ensure proper staffing for all events
  • Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown to ensure a high-quality experience
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality at all times

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; ServSafe certification preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, club, hotel, or similar hospitality setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize and connect with residents, visitors, peers, supervisors, and team members
  • Ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver's license required
