Job description

Job Title: Banquet Server
Department: Food amp; Beverage
Reports To: Events Manager
Job Summary:
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service during member and private events such as weddings, holiday parties, golf outings, and other functions. This includes setting up event spaces, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that all guest needs are met throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities: Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner during events.
  • Set up banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, silverware, and glassware according to event specifications.
  • Serve plated meals and beverages or monitor and replenish buffet stations as required.
  • Deliver excellent table service during events, including wine and cocktail service.
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of members and guests throughout the event.
  • Clear plates, glassware, and utensils between courses and at the conclusion of events. Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces before, during, and after service.
  • Assist with post-event breakdown and resetting of event areas.
  • Ensure food and beverages are served in accordance with health, safety, and club standards.
  • Perform additional related duties assigned by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications:
Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-volume setting.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions.
Comfortable working both independently and under supervision.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
Prior banquet or food service experience preferred.
Experience with wine and liquor service a plus.
Must obtain an Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) license from the Borough of Rumson.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays up to 25 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, and lift during setup and cleanup of banquet events.
