Job description

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for fun and personable Golf Shop Associates to join our Golf Course operations! The Golf Shop Associate is responsible for accurately collecting monies, recording and monitoring tee-time reservations, and maintaining adequate records in the golf shop. They will assist in all aspects of the golf operation to ensure the highest level of service and golf experience for our membership, guests and the general public. The Golf Shop Associate will also support the promotion of merchandise and events, contributing to the overall success of the golf course's retail operations. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to sales, merchandising, inventory control, tournament/event registration, and the organization and cleanliness of the Golf Shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, general public and employees. Ensure all staff meet or exceed the highest level of guest service in the performance of their duties.
  2. Maintain a working knowledge of the game of golf and Tahoe Donner Golf Course policies, rules, and regulations.
  3. Provide guests with information about the golf course, including course conditions, tee-times, events, and promotions.
  4. Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) and credit card systems.
  5. Make tee-time reservations, sales transactions and other related processes, ensuring all documentation is thorough and complete.
  6. Maintain a clean, organized and well-maintained pro shop and surrounding areas including outside area and lower-level restrooms.
  7. Coordinate with and assist the Starter and Player Assistants in maintaining appropriate pace of play and/or addressing other course-related issues.

We are looking for the following qualifications:
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills is required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in retail and knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories preferred but not required.
• Must be comfortable with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and operating basic office equipment.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry items up to thirty (30) pounds, and assist with organizing and stocking inventory.
• Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic with a passion for providing great customer service and promoting golf.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certifications are recommended.
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and one-year relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all the duties of the position.
