Athletic Event Ushers are the first point of contact for fans & guests at Miami University events. Ushers will assist with operation of the stadium and/or arena to ensure the safety and well-being of guests at Miami University Athletic and non-Athletic events.
This position specifically supports the mission of Miami University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules & regulations.

Essential Duties

  • Ushers are responsible for greeting, interacting, and providing information to all guests in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Inspects and sets up gates and turnstiles before event; breaks down and stores at the conclusion of event.

  • Monitors flow of patrons; enforces rules and regulations before, during, and after event.

  • Solves seating and other problems; ensures that persons are in proper seat.

  • Seats handicapped persons; handles VIP seating.

  • Takes attendance reading from turnstile at end of event; reports attendance to supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school education or GED. No experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • Customer service skill
