What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an evening manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Evening Manager, you need strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, and relevant experience in hospitality or retail management. Familiarity with scheduling software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and inventory management tools is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills help you handle staff and guest needs efficiently. These skills ensure smooth operations, positive guest experiences, and effective oversight during evening shifts.

Where can you work evening shift jobs?

You can work an Evening Shift job in many different fields and industries. In the healthcare field, care is needed in many facilities around the clock, and so everyone from doctors and nurses to receptionists and custodians work evening shifts. Employees may face challenges in coordinating with daytime colleagues or accessing certain resources that are only available during regular business hours. To manage these issues, it's helpful to establish a consistent routine, maintain clear communication with both day and night teams, and prioritize self-care practices such as regular exercise and healthy eating. Many organizations also offer support through employee wellness programs and flexible scheduling options.

Job description

Part Time Evening Trash Collector - Truck Required

$50-$75 per night for about 1.5-2 hours of work. Sunday-Thursday, starting at 7:00 PM. You must have a pickup truck.

That works out to roughly $30 an hour. Most nights you're done and home before 9:00 PM.

Community Concierge Services is hiring a part time evening trash collector for an apartment community in Durham, NC. This is doorstep valet trash service: you collect trash and recycling from residents' doors, load it into your truck, and haul it to the onsite compactor. Everything happens on one property, so you're not driving all over town burning gas.

The schedule

  • Sunday through Thursday, start at 7:00 PM
  • 1.5-2 hours per shift
  • 8-10 hours per week
  • Fridays and Saturdays off

What you'll do

  • Walk the assigned apartment community, including stairs
  • Collect trash and recycling bags from residents' doors
  • Load bags into your pickup truck
  • Transport to the onsite compactor or trash bins
  • Report any issues at the property

What you need

  • A reliable pickup truck - required, no exceptions
  • A valid driver's license and insurance
  • A smartphone with a data plan
  • The ability to carry up to 50 lbs unassisted and go up and down stairs
  • Availability every Sunday through Thursday evening
  • Reliability - showing up on time is the whole job

What we offer

  • Paid training
  • Paid holidays
  • Opportunities to advance to route supervisor
  • Consistent, predictable evening hours
  • Weekly routes at the same property - you learn it once

This is a good fit if you're looking for a second job, an evening side hustle, or part time night work that doesn't interfere with a day job or classes. If you own a truck and want a steady $250 a week for about 8-10 hours, apply today.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour Shift: Evening shift, Night shift Location: Durham, NC 27703 - onsite
