Job description

Position Overview
A growing transportation and logistics company is seeking a dependable and organized Dispatcher to support evening transportation operations. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers, monitoring route activity, handling service disruptions, and ensuring efficient communication across the operation. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and dispatch drivers for daily transportation routes
  • Monitor route activity and respond to operational issues in real time
  • Communicate with drivers regarding schedule changes, delays, and service updates
  • Manage driver callouts and coverage needs
  • Maintain accurate dispatch logs and operational records
  • Assist with route planning and schedule adjustments
  • Work closely with operations leadership to ensure service reliability
  • Provide professional customer service when addressing transportation concerns
  • Support day-to-day transportation operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or operations experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computers and dispatching systems
  • CDL license is a plus, but not required
  • Dependable, professional, and team-oriented mindset
  • Candidates with a reasonable commute are strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30–$32/hour depending on experience
  • Sunday-Thursday 4pm-12am (Saturdays Winter: 6pm-12am & Summer 10pm-1:30am)
