Job Description: Afternoon/Evening Production SupervisorSchedule:
Part-Time , Afternoon into Evening Shift
Reports To:
 Production Manager
About the Role:
We’re seeking a reliable and proactive Afternoon/Evening Production Supervisor to oversee operations during our second shift. This hands-on leadership role is key to ensuring production runs efficiently, team members are supported, and cleanliness and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will be flexible, highly organized, and comfortable stepping in wherever needed while maintaining a focus on the bigger picture. This person will also be expected to embrace and help cultivate the SQF culture, supporting compliance, inventory, and collaboration with the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise a small evening production team, ensuring tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
• Run weekly staff meetings and communicate priorities clearly.
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling—shift times may adjust slightly based on daily production needs.
• Conduct spot checks to confirm cleanliness, proper machine shutdown, and overall shift readiness.
• Support or assist with cleaning tasks, while holding the team accountable for their cleaning responsibilities.
• Learn and understand production equipment to assist with minor troubleshooting (not as a primary machine operator).
• Perform light equipment maintenance as needed.
• Utilize the Wherefour system for inventory support and complete purchase orders.
• Manage inventories, ensuring accuracy and reporting low stock as needed.
• Complete and maintain SQF paperwork, including non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with the warehouse team to support smooth operations and material flow.
• Coordinate with daytime supervisors and managers during overlap periods to ensure smooth handoffs.
• Delegate tasks effectively and identify additional ways to support production when work is completed early.
• Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members during the shift.
• Assist with boxing or packing cookies when needed.
• Promote a safe, allergen-free, and quality-driven environment in line with company standards.
Requirements:
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Ability to multitask and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with and around machinery (training provided).
• Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate when necessary.
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to shift changes or daily production demands.
• Willingness to embrace and cultivate the SQF culture within the team.
Preferred Skills (not required):
• Building maintenance or mechanical experience.
• Food production experience.
Schedule:
Afternoon to evening; hours may vary slightly depending on production needs.
