Job description

Wells Brothers Inc. is currently hiring an experienced Industrial Electrical Field tech to join our growing team. To be successful in this role, you need to be self-motivated, team orientated, punctual, have a high level of integrity, have the ability and willingness to learn, understand control wiring, able to run EMT and rigid conduit, pull wire and able to read prints.

Essential Duties

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a low Safety Incident Occurrence History
  • Operate Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Conduit Benders
  • Install cables and cable trays
  • Read blue prints with minimum supervision
  • Rough in, device, fixture and panel connections
  • Branch and Feeder load calculations
  • Select and Size circuit breakers and fuse applications
  • Run large size pipe (>2”) with supervision
  • Size/Select pull boxes, junction boxes and handholes
  • Size/Select/Install motor controllers
  • Load calculations wire sizing, breaker, or fuse selection

Experience and Requirements

  • 3 Years of Industrial Electrical Experience preferred
  • Education: Trade School preferred
  • Understand electrical, motor control and lower voltage systems
  • Understand electrical circuits concepts & Theory (Single Phase, Three Phase, AC and DC Electricity, 240V high leg system, wire colors, and test equipment)
  • Understanding of code book, conduit & wire sizing, box fill, and conduit strapping.
  • Understanding of Nema 1, 12, and 3R requirements
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs on occasion, stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach and sit for long periods of time
  • Must not be afraid of heights or confined spaces
  • Have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedule and easily and positivity adjust to changing priorities and department processes.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle the demands of internal and external customers
