Job description

Job Title:                                      Adjunct, Evening Electrical
Salary Structure:                         $35 per hour
Schedule:                                     2-3 days per week M-TH, Hours between 3pm-10pm (Except Fridays)
Location:                                      South Bryant Campus
General Job Description:
Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for an adjunct electrical instructor that will be responsible for the education and supervision of the students/staff in their charge utilizing curriculum which follows the Construction Industry Board (CIB), occupation-based curriculum design, delivered in a flexible manner as individual student needs dictate to develop knowledge, skills, work ethics, and compatible attitudes for employment. The candidate will be involved with an established electrical program through co-teaching, providing guidance, oversight, and input by leveraging industry and educational experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Oklahoma Electrical Trades Contractor License
  • Teaching Experience (Preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to instruct students
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer-related communication and word-processing app skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instructional Strategies

  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Oklahoma statute.
  • Delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in the classroom, laboratory/shop and/or work-based learning environment as established by State, National and/or District standards and requirements.
  • Concurrently facilitate student learning at varying skill levels and multiple stages within the program

Student Growth and Development

  • Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
  • Assist in job placement upon student program completion
  • Monitor students' pace and progress to program completion

Classroom Management and Organization

  • Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Uphold student behavior expectations consistent with district/program guidelines and standard industry expectations for working professionals

Communication

  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Maintain email and phone responsiveness with colleagues

Program Guidance

  • Make recommendations that promote industry alignment and student success
  • Recommend advisory members and other potential industry partners

Professionalism

  • Maintain certifications/licensures consistent with CIB and district guidelines
  • Uphold district and Oklahoma teacher code of conduct
