Job description

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Data Research Assistant / Testing Coordinator serves the COE programs and students by being a liaison for Educator Preparation Partners (Pearson, TEA, AAQEP, etc.), maintaining various data systems, collection of data sources, creation of data analysis reports (charts, graphs, reviews), and monitoring of student progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with data collection systems.
  • Experience with data collection, desegregation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other Office products.
  • Strong data management skills, ensuring accuracy, organization, and integrity of information
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is a primary contact for the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Pearson Testing, and the Education Testing Service (ETS).
  • Communicating with and submitting information to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for such accreditation needs as:
    • ASEP Reporting.
    • Accountability reporting.
    • Student Score Reporting.
    • Certification program applications, such as the Reading Specialist Certification, Superintendent Certification, etc.
    • Audit requirements, specifications, reporting, etc.
  • Assists with national reporting, such as:
    • Data compilation and reporting for national accreditation, currently AAQEP.
    • Draft of annual report for national accreditation - AAQEP.
    • Data compilation and assistance for SACSCOC annual accreditation, including data summits (mid-semester, mid-year, and final).
    • Data compilation and assistance with national research projects, such as the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) and News Week Graduate
  • Communicating and intervening with Pearson and ETS Testing Centers:
    • Compiling test data, such as the Score Report, Future Candidate Registrations, Initial Certification Test Status, Advanced Certification Test Status, etc.
    • Working with education candidates to schedule exams at various testing centers.
    • Working with principal candidates to properly submit the Performance Assessment for School Leaders (PASL) requirements.
    • Assisting and intervening in special circumstances, such as testing accommodations, testing center irregularities, etc.
  • Assisting in the administration of the state representative examinations. The state representative exam is taken during the TExES Test Preparation Seminar courses.
    • Monitors test administration.
    • Scores the exams.
    • Provides assessment feedback to the student, so that the student will be able to work with the Program Director or Seminar Professor in the competency areas needing improvement.
  • Communication, assistance, and support to full-time and adjunct professors and candidates. This support includes:
    • Assisting professors in supporting their students' use of different systems, such as Taskstream, 240 Tutoring, Field-based Comprehensive Project, Blackboard, etc.
    • Supporting students in submission of assignments into these systems, such as Lesson Plans to Taskstream, specific documentation to the Comprehensive Project, Candidate Work Samples, etc.
    • Assisting Field Supervisors with practicum, internship, and clinical teacher auditable documentation, (T-TESS Evaluation Rubric, Lesson Plans in Taskstream, logins, ), TEA forms (Bob's forms, observations logs, competency logs, etc.).
  • Assistance in communication with district partners, especially regarding TEA requirements, certifications, and accreditations, such as for the:
    • Principal survey (TEA Requirement).
    • Recommendation for hiring form.
    • Application for Cooperating
    • Application for appropriate site
    • Grant applications, examples include the Principal in Residency and Rural Schools.
  • Other duties as required by the COE, such as:
    • Changes in testing procedures.
    • Revised requirements/policies of the TX Legislature, TEA, State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC), or State Board of Education (SBOE).
    • Changes in national accreditation, g. annual reporting for AAQEP.
    • Changes in SACSCOC requirements.

WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211
