Summary of the RoleThe Product Manager, ETFs, will drive strategic positioning and management of the Calamos suite of ETFs. The Product Management function reports to the Product and Marketing Team, which works to develop and execute comprehensive plans to maximize the growth opportunities and profitability for both new and existing products. This role will serve as a product expert and work with multiple departments, positioning and promoting ETFs with a focus on developing and communicating the investment value proposition through content development and sales ideas based on current market trends and market opportunities.Primary ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy and Competitive Positioning
  • Develops and maintains a complete understanding of competing ETF features and benefits to draw competitive advantages of our ETFs across different asset classes and client types. Collaborates with the Investment Team to understand expected capital markets and macro-economic impacts for each product based on various market conditions.
  • Collaborates with Product Analytics to develop Product team views for each ETF regarding asset allocation approaches and positioning in relation to key competitors.
Marketing Partnership and Content Development
  • Drives development of ETF positioning and promotes ETFs in collaboration with multiple departments. Partners with Marketing, Investment Team, Head of ETFs, and Distribution on the design and creation of ad hoc prospecting materials and sales ideas. Work with Product and Channel Marketing as a central idea source for content.
  • Ensures that each ETF has a strong base of core product marketing and client material that clearly communicate the investment value proposition to target clients.
  • Responsible for ensuring ETF presentations, fact sheets and all other collateral related to ETFs reflect accurate and current positioning.
  • Collaborates with the Product Team regarding new ETF launches, with an emphasis on working with the Investment Team to communicate the strategy and providing launch materials in partnership with Marketing and Distribution.
Sales Support
  • Develops training initiatives to educate sales team on ETF features and positioning.
  • Be proactive and responsive in communication with Distribution partners to create a productive feedback loop and provide them with the materials and positioning points best suited to support their efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or other related discipline.
  • 5-10+ years of work experience, with experience in the asset management or ETF industry.  Experience in product management a plus.
  • Progress toward CFA, CAIA or CFP designation, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of traditional and alternative investment strategies, ETFs, and capital markets.
  • Broad industry knowledge, with an understanding of the institutional and retail client needs, market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to develop compelling ideas and messaging to support the ETF product suite.
  • High attention to detail with well-developed analytical and problem solving skills. Able to interpret data from analytical software such as Morningstar Direct, Zephyr, Strategic Insights, eVestment Alliance, etc.
  • Team player with client service mindset. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
