Position Summary
This paraprofessional position functions under general supervision as the Lead worker in the operations support unit within the Office of Budget & Management and requires specialized knowledge of the benefit programs administered by ETF. A primary focus is conducting address research for 600,000+ Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) members using various technology tools, corresponding with members, and making updates to ETF business application systems. Other functions include: Oversee other program staff as lead worker, manage and lead next of kin program, recommend and update outdated processes, management of outsourced courier and shredding services; preparation of 50,000+ member benefit packets annually; fleet management; forms production/ordering and inventory of 6,000+ different forms related to administration of all ETF public employee benefit programs, and agency-wide copier equipment leasing.
Program duties and responsibilities include analyzing, reviewing, and processing records; making continuous improvements to unit processes for enhanced efficiency and service to ETF program areas; conducting special studies and preparing reports; developing and implementing policy recommendations; developing and maintaining unit documentation; and providing training and oversight for the work of permanent office support staff and limited term employees and contractors assigned to the unit.
This lead worker position also collaborates with and provides coverage for the Records and Forms Management Specialist in the Records Management Unit. It reports to the Supply and Mail Services (SAMS) Supervisor and directly supports the Supervisor in developing the SAMS annual operating budget request and tracking purchases and expenditures for supporting ETF program operations. It also receives extensive guidance from client/customer program supervisors and managers across the agency.
Salary Information
The is in classification Trust Funds Assistant 3 (pay schedule/range 02-14) with a starting salary is $31.65 per hour, plus excellent benefits.
Pay for current and new state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment.

Job Details
This position may be eligible for hybrid work flexibility. The selected employee must report to the ETF office on their first day of employment. In addition, the employee may need to report to ETF on short notice as operational needs require. All employees are expected to be headquartered and work within the state of Wisconsin.
ETF does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.
Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the duties required of the position.
A 12-month probationary is required.
Qualifications
Minimally Qualified candidates will have experience in all of the following :
  • Experience with processing mail operations within business (incoming sorting, outgoing, etc).
  • Using various resources to research and gather information to aid in decision making
  • Utilizing computer applications to manage workflows, databases, manage e-mails, create documentation, etc.
In addition, Highly Qualified candidates will also have experience with the following :
  • Experience training and/or leading others (training, delegating work, providing performance feedback)
  • Experience Revising Forms
  • Experience using scanning software (scanning, reindexing, etc.)
