Job description

Position Summary:
Hutch Paving is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Estimating Assistant to support our estimating and team in the paving, asphalt, and concrete industry. This role is responsible for coordinating permits, utility locates, bid documentation, mapping, and general administrative support to ensure projects are prepared accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pull city, county, and municipal permits for asphalt, concrete, and related construction projects.
  • Contact and schedule utility locates through Miss Dig / 811 before project start dates.
  • Prepare and organize bid proposals, estimates, and supporting documents.
  • Create job maps, site location packets, and project folders.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for permits, bids, contracts, and job records.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries professionally.
  • Handle incoming emails and vendor communication.
  • Update spreadsheets, databases, and job tracking logs.
  • Keep track of supplies and complete amazon orders as needed
  • Keep conference room clean and organized for meetings and vacuuming office space.
  • Assist with miscellaneous office and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous administrative or construction office experience preferred.
  • Experience in asphalt, paving, concrete, or construction industry is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Miss dig experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • must be able 8:30am-5pm Monday- Friday

Work Environment:

  • Office-based position, no remote option available
  • Full-time position with standard business hours; seasonal overtime may be required.
