Job description

Summary
Plans and implements a Credit Recovery Academy summer program associated with VDOE assessments for verified credits; works in a collaborative team setting to individualize instruction for beginning level Multilingual Learner (ML) students with numeracy skill gaps; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; manages student behavior; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; collaborates with other summer program teachers to plan and facilitate Project-based Learning; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy.
Qualifications
Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education in Mathematics or ESL, with dual endorsement preferred. Experience in teaching the Pre Algebra Pathway preferred. Experience with using the Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate instruction, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; knowledge of WIDA standards; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
