Location: Esperanza Health Centers
Annual Salary: (Based on experience): $217,200 - $271,500

Your Role & Impact
As an Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician, you'll provide primary medical care services to pediatric and adult patients (and in some cases OB/GYN patients) in both the ambulatory and in-patient setting using primary care concepts, emphasizing prevention of illness and the promotion of health lifestyles. You'll also participate in program planning of health activities within the Health Center and in the community as requested by:
Patient Care & Enhancing Care Flow
  • Manages Women's Health ambulatory care medical practice by eliciting patient histories, performing physical examinations, providing accurate clinical diagnoses, prescribing evidence-based and cost-effective treatments and providing patient education.
  • Adheres to Esperanza Health Center's Productivity Standard for Physicians of an average of at least 2.7 patient visits per hour of ambulatory time worked.
  • Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals consistent with Esperanza Health Center's medical practice guidelines.

Collaborative Support & Communication
  • Provides inpatient OB/GYN care for Esperanza patients at appropriate hospitals as assigned by Medical Director. Inpatient call schedule will be determined based on the needs of health center patients.
  • Maintains liaison with any Partner Hospitals' medical staff and ambulatory care departments through obtaining and maintaining Hospital Privileges, attendance at department and section meetings, and attending physician teaching duties
  • Takes call for Esperanza Health Centers patients as assigned by the Medical Director.

Administrative Duties
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the health center including complete, legible and accurate chart documentation, Peer Review chart audits and reviews, and designated projects.
  • Prepares, implements and documents age-specific preventative health schedules for all patients.
  • Builds and maintains an OB/GYN practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, in-patient management of obstetric and surgical cases, and other methods that assure continuity of care.
  • Maintains clinical competency through regular Continuing Medical Education and provides documentation of such to Esperanza Health Center Administration.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical School.
  • Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
