Job Summary:
Ares Management is a leading global alternative investment manager offering clients investment solutions across various sectors. The role involves communicating sustainability strategy and performance to global investors through comprehensive reporting and data analysis, requiring strong relationship management and technical skills.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the ESG team to translate analytical and reporting needs into robust technical solutions.
• Integrate data from ESG data vendors (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Bloomberg) into the reporting process and data architecture.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, ensuring accurate and timely visualization of ESG metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct QA/QC processes and checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Deliver data for ad-hoc ESG reporting needs across deal teams, investor relations and compliance teams.
• Help drive carbon accounting initiatives using tools such as Watershed, including data collection, analysis, and reporting on portfolio company financed emissions.
• Leverage SQL and data querying skills to extract and analyze portfolio requirements.
• Lead the preparation and delivery of regular and ad-hoc investor reports, ensuring narrative alignment with firmwide ESG goals.
• Project manage, configure and validate ESG software platforms and survey tools to ensure seamless data collection from portfolio companies.
• Support firmwide reporting initiatives by assisting with Master Data Management (MDM) strategies to ensure consistency across investment strategies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows using automation tools (e.g., Power Automate) to improve efficiency and accuracy in investor deliverables.
• Communicate with internal investment teams and external partners across diverse stakeholder groups to validate data integrity for marketing materials and due diligence responses.
• Collaborate with Technology and Data Operations teams to support data architecture, metadata management, and access governance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, environmental science, economics or related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and excel for data transformation, analytics, and automation.
• Experience developing Power BI dashboards and supporting end-user reporting requirements.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting or similar roles.
Preferred:
• Prior exposure to investment management, private markets, financial services, or sustainability/ESG domains.
• Familiarity with data warehouses and vendor-data onboarding workflows.
