Underground Utilities Foreman – Heavy Civil Construction
Evergreen, Colorado | Full-Time

We're seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Foreman to lead utility crews, drive production, and ensure safe, high-quality installation of underground infrastructure.

What You'll Do
As an Underground Utilities Foreman, you'll lead field crews and oversee the safe and efficient installation of underground utility systems on heavy civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct utility crews performing the installation of:
    • Water mains and water services
    • Sanitary sewer mains and sewer services
    • Storm sewer systems
    • Utility conduits and related infrastructure
  • Plan daily work activities and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and survey information.
  • Calculate and verify pipe grades, slopes, cut elevations, structure elevations, and field adjustments.
  • Utilize lasers, levels, and other construction layout tools to ensure accurate installation.
  • Install and oversee construction of:
    • Cast-in-place manhole bases
    • Precast manholes and structures
    • Inlets, drainage structures, and utility appurtenances
  • Coordinate closely with operators, laborers, survey crews, inspectors, and project leadership.
  • Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor daily production and maintain quality standards throughout construction.
  • Mentor and develop crew members while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Identify and solve field challenges while maintaining project schedules and productivity goals.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Pipelayer and/or Pipe Helper/Top Man installing underground utilities.
  • Proven experience installing water, sewer, storm drainage, and utility conduit systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of utility grades, elevations, and underground construction methods.
  • Experience working safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading utility crews.
  • Experience with earthwork and grading operations.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and production tracking.
  • Experience working on municipal, commercial, and public infrastructure projects.
