Job description

Position Start Date: August 13th 2026

Description: The Building Substitute Teacher provides consistent instructional and supervisory support within the school by serving as a daily substitute teacher for students in grades 612. The building substitute reports to the assigned school each day and is responsible for maintaining continuity of instruction and supporting student learning in the absence of the classroom teacher. This position may also assist with student supervision, academic interventions, and other school-related duties as assigned by administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Teaching licensure for the State of Ohio or the ability to obtain substitute licensure for the State of Ohio

Work Hours

  • Fulltime-7:15-3:30

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain a productive and positive learning environment that supports student achievement.
  • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with district and school policies.
  • Take attendance and complete required classroom documentation.
  • Utilize instructional technology and educational resources to support learning.
  • Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the assigned working day.
  • Provide feedback to teachers regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns that arise during the day.

Student Support

  • Foster positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Monitor student engagement and participation.
  • Support intervention and enrichment activities as assigned.
  • Assist students in understanding assignments and classroom expectations.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
  • Follow district policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day.
  • Ability to supervise students in classrooms and other school settings.
  • Ability to perform duties consistent with maintaining a safe and orderly school environment.

Salary:

$170-180 per day  (commensurate with experience)
