Job Summary:

The Manager of Enterprise Systems is responsible for the administration, development, and continuous improvement of the companyโ€™s Epicor ERP platform and related business systems within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as both a hands-on technical leader and enterprise systems architect, managing ERP initiatives, analytics infrastructure, and system integrations while directly supporting users when necessary. The position manages the ERP Systems & Business Intelligence Analyst and works closely with the IT Administrator and Systems Support Engineers to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems.

The organization currently operates on Epicor ERP 10.2 and is preparing to transition to Epicor Kinetic as part of its ongoing enterprise system modernization. This role will lead that transition with the help of contractors and establish sustainable internal processes for ERP lifecycle management, system upgrades, integrations, and analytics enablement. The company is also investing in improved data visibility through a growing Power BI analytics initiative, combining ERP data with external business data to support operational and executive decision-making. This position will play a central role in guiding the evolution of the enterprise systems environment while ensuring system stability, strong user adoption, and continuous operational improvement.


Work Description:


ERP Platform Ownership

  • Serve as the primary technical and functional owner of the Epicor ERP system
  • Diagnose, correct, and prevent ERP system errors and operational issues
  • Maintain system configuration, customizations, and integrations
  • Ensure data integrity and transactional accuracy across ERP modules
  • Manage the lifecycle of the ERP platform, including planning and executing system upgrades

Epicor Kinetic Transition & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead the organizationโ€™s transition from Epicor 10.2 to Epicor Kinetic
  • Establish sustainable internal processes for ERP lifecycle management
  • Plan, test, and execute ongoing Epicor Kinetic upgrades to maintain alignment with stable Epicor releases
  • Maintain development and testing environments to support system upgrades and enhancements
  • Ensure compatibility of integrations, customizations, reports, and analytics models during upgrade cycles

System Development & Integration

  • Lead new module implementations and enterprise system integrations
  • Identify process gaps and develop system customizations and automation solutions
  • Design and develop external software utilities or applications that integrate with Epicor
  • Coordinate with external consultants when required for specialized development or system upgrades
  • Assist with implementation, integration, and maintenance of CRM or other enterprise business applications connected to Epicor ERP

Business Intelligence & Data

  • Oversee development and maintenance of ERP reporting infrastructure, including: Business Activity Queries (BAQs), Business Process Management (BPMs), Dashboards, Reports, Data queries and integrations
  • Ensure effective extraction, transformation, and analysis of ERP data
  • Guide integration of ERP data with external business data for Power BI analytics initiatives

Process Improvement

  • Lead the Epicor Core Team in initiatives to improve system utilization and operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and business processes through system enhancements and automation
  • Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and leadership to optimize workflows supported by enterprise systems

User Support & System Adoption

  • Provide direct support to ERP users when required, particularly for complex or escalated issues
  • Oversee resolution of ERP-related help desk tickets
  • Provide training and education on system capabilities and best practices
  • Manage user account creation processes, security roles, and system access controls

Collaboration with IT Infrastructure

  • Work closely with the IT Administrator and Systems Support Engineers to ensure:
  • Reliable infrastructure supporting ERP and integrated systems
  • Proper system security and access controls
  • Coordination of system updates, backups, and performance monitoring

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the ERP Systems & Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Manage and mentor the Systems Support Engineer(s) for their responsibilities surrounding Epicor
  • Establish standards and best practices for ERP development, reporting, and analytics
  • Coordinate ERP initiatives across internal stakeholders and external partners
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience administering and customizing Epicor ERP in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or implementing ERP modules, upgrades, or system integrations
  • Strong technical proficiency with: SQL, C#
  • Experience supporting manufacturing processes including: MRP, BOM management, Inventory control, Production operations
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving ERP system issues in a production environment
  • Ability to work directly with business users to understand operational needs and translate them into system solutions
  • Experience leading ERP-related projects or system initiatives
  • Experience working in a small IT team with hands-on system ownership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience planning and executing Epicor Kinetic upgrades
  • Experience leading or supporting ERP implementation or major system upgrades
  • Experience developing Epicor customizations, BPMs, BAQs, and dashboards
  • Experience designing or supporting Power BI data models and analytics reporting
  • Experience integrating ERP systems with external applications, databases, or APIs
  • Experience implementing or integrating CRM systems
  • Familiarity with additional development technologies such as Java, JavaScript, VB, or HTML
