Job description

Remtec is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative ERP Business Analyst to support and enhance our Epicor ERP system. This role will focus on financial interaction with inventory management and job management in a manufacturing environment.

The ERP Business Analyst will work closely with Operations, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, streamline processes, and improve system utilization. This position will report to the IT/ERP Business Systems Manager, playing a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting daily ERP financial operations, and driving continuous improvement across the business. The successful candidate will have Epicor experience, be a dependable, self‑motivated team player who collaborates effectively, learns quickly, and is willing to go above and beyond when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

ERP System Support

  • Provide day-to-day functional support for Epicor ERP processes with a focus on financial modules to align the ERP system with business needs.
  • Create reports, extract data and provide root cause analysis of variances.
  • Troubleshoot issues in collaboration with internal and external support partners.
  • Assist with system updates, testing, and implementation of enhancements.
  • Support the IT/ERP Business System Manager in maintaining system stability, documentation and as otherwise directed.
  • Resolve user access issues and provide prompt support to user queries.
  • Provide real-time support, training, and documentation across departments for all ERP systems users.
  • Participate in ERP-related improvement projects.


Process Support

  • Analyze existing ERP workflows to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Propose process enhancements and system improvements.
  • Document business processes, ERP configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with testing and validation of ERP changes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary point of ERP support for the following:

Financial Support

  • Support Finance with GL, AP, AR, and cost accounting processes within Epicor.
  • Assist in month-end close activities including job closing, inventory valuation and WIP reconciliation.
  • Ensure alignment between operational and financial data.


Inventory Management

  • Analyze discrepancies and support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities to improve inventory accuracy and data integrity within Epicor.
  • Monitor proper material transactions including receiving, issuing, transfers, and adjustments. Provide support to correct or improve as needed.


Operations Support (Jobs)

  • Verify proper completion of jobs (labor, materials, overhead, POs, & DMRs) and close jobs.
  • Analyze and report findings on job performance, cost variances, and production efficiency. Perform root cause analysis of outliers and lead cross functional resolutions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to reduce job variances, improve cost visibility and accuracy.


Data Management

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and queries (BAQs, dashboards, SSRS) as directed to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business performance.
  • Analyze ERP data to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Promote and enforce data standards and best practices.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance with security policies and accuracy/integrity within the ERP system by performing routine data valuations and cleanup activities.
  • Identify and correct data inconsistencies or inaccuracies as required, inclusive of Bins, Part Class ID’s, Lot Codes, Mins / Maxs, Lead Times, etc.
  • Review BOM (Bill of Materials) and BOO (Bill of Operations) for consistent and standardized structures. Work with Engineers to correct as needed.


User Support, Training & Documentation

  • Serve as a key point of contact for ERP users across departments for all financial, inventory, and job-related issues.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of user documentation and training.
  • Promote best practices and drive user adoption.
  • Learn to become a subject matter expert for all Epicor functionalities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of ERP experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory and financial ERP modules
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor experience highly desirable)
  • Experience with reporting tools such as BAQs, dashboards, or SSRS
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Epicor ERP manufacturing and financial modules
  • Basic SQL or database knowledge
