CPI helps our customers foster connections and build their brands through innovative and reliable solutions, including financial payment cards, personalization and fulfillment, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) instant issuance. Learn more at www.cpicardgroup.com

The ERP SME Analyst serves as CPI Card Group's subject matter expert on the Acumatica Cloud ERP platform, acting as the critical bridge between business operations and technology as the company transitions from its legacy Monarch ERP environment to a modern, unified cloud-based system.

Reporting to the SVP, Business Technology and Data, this role leads business process analysis, system configuration, and functional design across Finance, Distribution, and operational modules. The ERP SME Analyst plays a central role in CPI's multi-year ERP consolidation program (2027-2029), partnering with the Systems Integrator and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a smooth, data-driven migration.

  • Business Process Analysis and Requirements Definition (30%) - Analyze current-state business workflows across Finance, Distribution, Billing, and Operations as they exist in Monarch (4 instances), NetSuite, and the existing Acumatica instance (Arroweye). Document as-is process flows, identify gaps, inefficiencies, and redundancies, and define future-state requirements aligned with Acumatica's capabilities. Facilitate structured discovery sessions with functional leads and end-users across all business units.
  • ERP Configuration and Solution Design (25%) - Configure Acumatica modules (Finance, Distribution, Project Accounting, and others as scoped) to meet documented business requirements. Design and validate solution blueprints that address process gaps identified during discovery. Develop and maintain Generic Inquiries (GI), dashboards, and custom reports using Acumatica Report Designer to support operational and executive reporting needs.
  • ERP Migration and Implementation Support (20%) - Partner with the selected Systems Integrator (SI) to execute all phases of the ERP migration, including data migration, integration design, system testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live. Coordinate with the Data Platform team to ensure clean, validated data flows from the Databricks Lakehouse into Acumatica, consistent with CPI's "Data-First, Then ERP" strategy. Manage cutover planning and legacy system decommissioning schedules.
  • System Administration and Ongoing Support (15%) - Serve as the primary Acumatica platform administrator, managing user access, security roles, workflows, and system configurations. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and tier-2/3 support for end-users. Monitor system performance and coordinate with Acumatica support and hosting partners for issue resolution and platform upgrades.
  • Training and Change Management (10%) - Develop and deliver end-user training materials and sessions for new Acumatica functionality. Support organizational change management efforts by acting as a subject matter resource during transition periods. Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support SOX compliance controls related to ERP financial transactions and audit trails.
  • Assist with the Monarch bridge upgrade (mid-2026) to stabilize the legacy environment during the transition period.
  • Contribute to vendor evaluation and selection of the ERP Systems Integrator.
  • Participate in Data Governance Council activities as the ERP domain representative.
  • Support master data management initiatives, including Unique Customer ID (UCID) alignment across ERP systems.

  • Strong understanding of core business processes in Finance (GL, AP, AR, Billing), Distribution (Inventory, Order Management), and/or Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Acumatica Report Designer, Generic Inquiries, Import/Export Scenarios, and workflow configuration.
  • Familiarity with Acumatica Framework and basic customization concepts (C#/.NET exposure a plus but not required).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to decompose complex business processes into system requirements.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, capable of leading discovery sessions and presenting solution options to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced transformation environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and system optimization opportunities.
  • Acumatica Certified User or Developer certification preferred.
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  • Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications.
  • The ERP SME Analyst operates with moderate autonomy in system configuration, report development, and day-to-day platform administration decisions.
  • The role independently prioritizes bug fixes, enhancement requests, and user support activities.
  • Decisions involving process changes that impact financial reporting, SOX controls, inventory valuation, or cross-module integrations require review and approval from the SVP, Business Technology and Data and relevant functional sponsors.
  • Scope changes, vendor escalations, and budget-impacting decisions are escalated to leadership.
  • Focuses on providing thought leadership and works on broader organization projects, which requires understanding of wider business.
  • Requires conveying advanced information and persuading several diverse stakeholders/audiences.
  • This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
  • The ERP SME Analyst coordinates with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT, as well as external Systems Integrator consultants.
  • The role directly impacts CPI's ERP consolidation program, spanning 25+ legacy systems being rationalized into a single Acumatica platform across multiple business units.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience as an ERP Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Systems Administrator.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Acumatica Cloud ERP, including configuration of Finance and/or Distribution modules.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting at least one full-cycle ERP implementation or migration (requirements through go-live).
  • Experience with data migration strategies, including data cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required.
  • The employee may occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds, such as laptops, documents, or office supplies.
