Job description

TeccWeb is an Epicor Service Partner comprised of a team of experts in Epicor ERP, Information Technology, Database Development, Program Customization, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Business Re-engineering and Employee Training providing enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to mid-market companies around the world.

Our experts come from a wide range of business backgrounds and are certified Epicor consultants. We offer a diverse skill set which enables us to provide our customers with the expertise needed to solve complex business issues successfully. As a TeccWeb Epicor Tools Developer, you are responsible for customizing, enhancing, and maintaining the Epicor Kinetic ERP system using native Epicor development tools. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business process understanding, and problem-solving skills to meet specific organizational needs and optimize ERP functionality without altering core system code.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Epicor Customization and Development
  • Epicor Application Studio: Design and implement User Interface (UI) customizations for Kinetic web screens (adding/hiding fields, modifying controls, creating custom forms).
  • Business Process Management (BPM): Develop and maintain server-side business logic using BPM Directives (Pre/Base/Post Processing) to enforce business rules and automate workflows.
  • Proficiency in utilizing C# code within BPMs for complex logic is required.
  • Epicor Functions: Create and manage reusable, encapsulated business logic components using Epicor Functions (written in C#) for specific, complex operations and integrations.
  • Data Structure: Design and implement User Defined Tables (UDT) and fields to extend the Epicor data model as required by business needs.
    Reporting, Data, and Integration
  • Business Activity Queries (BAQ): Create, optimize, and maintain complex BAQs (including sub-queries and calculated fields) to support custom dashboards, reports, and integrations.
  • Dashboards (EDD): Develop and customize Dashboards using BAQs and the Epicor Data Discovery (EDD) platform to provide users with actionable real-time data insights.
  • Reporting: Design, develop, and modify financial and operational reports, often using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) or other Epicor-supported reporting tools.
  • Integration: Utilize Epicor's REST API and Service Connect (if applicable) to facilitate seamless data exchange and integration with external systems, ensuring all transactions respect Epicor's business objects.

TECHNICAL SILLS AND BEST PRACTICES

  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C# and familiarity with the .NET framework.
  • Database: Solid working knowledge of SQL (T-SQL) for data querying and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to use Epicor and browser debugging tools (e.g., Application Studio debug console, F12 developer tools, tracing) to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in customizations and BPMs.
  • Best Practices: Adhere to best practices for Epicor development, including maintaining a clear separation between client-side (UI) and server-side (BPM) logic, and using Epicor services over direct database manipulation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10 years experience as IT Developer
  • 5 years experience in ERP
  • Last 2 years on Epicor Kinetic version
  • Strong programming skills in C# and SQL
  • Proven experience as an Epicor Developer, Consultant, or Analyst with a focus on customization and technical tools.

  • Recent version of Epicor 10 is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.
