Job description

Performs a variety of tasks essential to the hospital areas that include reception of patients. Greet our customers in a friendly and courteous manner whether in person or by telephone. May have multidepartment scheduling responsibility for outpatient tests and treatment.

Registration functions including obtaining all necessary biographical and billing information. Acts in compliance with CMS guidelines along with department and hospital policies and procedures. Greets patients as clerk enters the ER room and provides the customers with information including directions on how to find other hospital services, physician office or staff Always visible to the customers entering the work areas Offer wheelchair assistance to patients and to meet the patient's needs Knowledge of hospital testing and procedure done in the areas assigned to including physician offices located in our facility or off-site Arriving patients accounts for designated areas Verifying patient's insurances and financial screening to offer HCAP or Charity Care applications to be completed according to CMS Federal guidelines Participates in OH TRAC for Emergency Preparedness drills and real events of emergency disastersHigh School Diploma or GED Computer and other applications, Meditech computer system and or Registration experience Demonstrated effective oral communication skills including good telephone and email etiquette Ability to work under high volume and stressful situations within the ER setting Must be organized and able to multi-taskHigh School Diploma or GED Computer and other applications, Meditech computer system and or Registration experience Demonstrated effective oral communication skills including good telephone and email etiquette Ability to work under high volume and stressful situations within the ER setting Must be organized and able to multi-task.
