Job Description
Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse
Profession: Registered Nurse
Specialty: Emergency Room

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience and Psychiatric Emergency Department experience required.
License:
North Carolina or Compact license in hand at the time of submission.
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI (If not in hand, done onsite).
Must-Have:
Required charting experience with Epic.
Description:
Interviews will be conducted via phone call.
Weekends are required every other week.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
Required skills include de-escalation and management of violent behavior.
Special procedures in this unit require knowledge in the use of seclusion, legal aspects of behavioral health, and crisis intervention techniques.
Additional skills needed include management of abdominal pain, acute psychosis, respiratory distress, and other emergencies.
The facility supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
Daily census is around 60, with approximately 190 visits per day.
Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Documentation and compliance requirements are in place, including timely submissions of necessary documents.
Any previous permanent employment within this health system must be included in the candidate's employment history.
Candidates must provide reference within the past year.
Candidates should be responsive and maintain communication regarding compliance requirements.
Lab work is to be completed within a week of signing the contract.
