Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Informaticist, you will use your knowledge, experience, critical thinking, and leadership skills to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to promoting quality care. Everyday you’ll be onsite in our Omaha service center to work with key stakeholders to evaluate, plan, develop, and implement new features, and functionality of our healthcare information systems. To be successful in this role, you must support end users by providing training for new hires and existing staff.

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Analyze and plan implementations of new EPIC functionality
  • Provide oversight and management of assigned projects from beginning to end of implementation
  • Provide training for new hires and existing staff on EPIC functionality
  • Perform technical review of new optimization requests and upgrade functionality to assess workflow impact
  • Collaborate with EPIC dedicated vendors and teams to research and resolve issues
  • Remain proficient in company specific applications supported by the Clinical Informatics Department
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Depending on licenses and qualifications, this position may be filled as a non-clinical informaticist or specialist
Job Requirements

Required:

  • BS Clinical Degree or equivalent e.g. Nursing, Pharmacist, Respiratory, PT/OT, Radiology, etc.
  • Valid clinical license required for clinical informaticist.
  • EPIC Proficient or Credentialed within one year of hire.
  • Two years experience in clinic setting using computerized EMR.
  • Experience with projects including planning, facilitating, and implementation.
  • Located in or able to commute to the Omaha area.

Preferred:

  • EPIC Proficient or Credentialed
  • Informatics training and experience working with EMR
  • Masters’ Degree in Cumputer science, MIS, Nursing, Informatics, Health admin, or related field
  • Project Management Professional Certification

For applicants without clinical experience or license, they may be considered for this role as a non-clinical informaticist.
