  • Orthopedic surgeons may provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
  • They may also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Licenses: Active IA License or Universal License (IMLC)
  • Experience: Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Surgery; Must be experienced
  • Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice/background history; Must cover specified shift blocks
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and call coverage at MercyOne Waterloo and Cedar Falls Medical Centers.
  • Take calls from any patient or provider contacting the facility with orthopedic questions.
  • Perform history and physical exams, evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with orthopedic conditions.
  • Provide surgical and medical treatment for trauma, infections, tumors, and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Manage patients in the intensive care setting as needed and handle emergent conditions during on-call shifts.
