REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports To: Director of Operations

POSITION PURPOSE

EOTECH is looking for a Hands-On Facility Manager for overseeing and managing all aspects of the facility infrastructure, maintenance, and operations within Clean Room Wafer Fab and mechanical assemble/test manufacturing environments. This critical role ensures the reliable and efficient functioning of cleanroom systems, utilities, building systems, and overall facility infrastructure to support manufacturing operations. A key aspect of this role is ensuring strict adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations and best practices at our Santa Clara, CA location. This individual will maintain EOTECH Edge Vision Systems’ facilities and be responsible for leading facility improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all facility systems critical to Wafer Fab production, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, process cooling water (PCW), vacuum systems, and specialty gases.
  • Manage and optimize cleanroom environmental controls (temperature, humidity, particulate levels) to meet strict ISO standards.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs (PMP) for all facility equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling programs, including hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Champion a strong safety culture within the facilities team and across facility operations. Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local EH&S regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and relevant industry-specific standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facility areas, equipment, and work practices. Investigate facility-related incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage and oversee programs related to hazardous waste management, air emissions, wastewater discharge, and storm water runoff.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of chemicals and hazardous materials used in facility operations.
  • Participate in the development and review of facility-related emergency response plans (fire, chemical spill, power outage, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate EH&S records and documentation related to facility operations.
  • Stay current on changes in EH&S regulations and implement necessary updates to facility procedures.
  • Plan, manage, and execute facility-related projects, including upgrades, renovations, and new equipment installations, ensuring safety is a primary consideration in all project phases.
  • Develop and manage the annual facilities operating and capital budgets.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.), ensuring they meet company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility maintenance activities, equipment history, system performance, and EH&S compliance.
  • Generate reports on facility performance, energy consumption, maintenance costs, and safety metrics.
  • Responsible for maintenance of facility Acid Waste Neutralization (AWN) systems.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management), Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facility management, with significant experience in the Clean Room or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and best practices, particularly those relevant to industrial and manufacturing settings (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Experience developing and implementing safety procedures and programs.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Proven experience managing complex HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with an emphasis on integrating safety into projects.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate EH&S requirements.
  • Available to work on weekends and after hours, as needed.
  • Experience operating forklifts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended periods of working on a computer at a desk, as needed.
  • Willing and able to visit local or long-distance manufacturers and suppliers, up to approximately 10% of the time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed for inspections and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Flexibility to work in different environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Good vision and hearing to monitor safety and security systems.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, which may require physical agility.
