Program Manager II
Location: Chaska, MN, In-Person
Position Profile:
A Program Manager leads multiple concurrent programs through proposal, funding, development, qualification, and volume production.   The program manager coordinates and influences internal engineering, operations, business development, finance, and contracts teams.   The Program Manager is the customer advocate and primary point of contact.  Program Managers perform project planning, progress measurement, and scope control and ensure the execution of goals through financial and program-based milestones.  
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and release project Work Breakdown Structure with approved budgets.
  • Creation and maintenance of project Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Facilitating IPD Process compliance by completing required Initiating Activities, Design Reviews, and Gate Review requirements.
  • Facilitate internal and external customer weekly team meetings/telecons with documentation of minutes and maintenance of Action Item Lists.
  • Create Monthly Program Review materials for assigned projects and present them to Executive Leadership. Approve POs for material on assigned programs.
  • Achievement of NRE Cost, Design to Cost, and Schedule performance against budget for assigned projects.
  • Understands overall BU programs CPI amp; SPI and coordinates the interactions that affect BU Revenue amp; Margin.
  • Review and creation of material and/or labor plans and cost reports.
  • Resolution and coordination of project cost, schedule, and technical performance issues.
  • Monitor and control of project scope.
  • Escalating issues or risks that cannot be resolved at the project team level.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction for assigned projects.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow business content with associated projects and customers.
  • Supporting significant proposals with related PMO inputs.
  • Initiating and scrubbing proposal Bases of Estimates and Schedules.
  • Expected to achieve:
  • Project expenditures within 10% of budget.
  • On-time delivery of significant milestones within 2 weeks of baseline.
  • The highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Early detection and mitigation of risks.
  • Demonstration of the highest ethical standards
  • Bring initiatives and activities to closure promptly through effective interaction with internal and external individuals to the Marotta organization (as required).
  • Builds, mends, and maintains relationships that ultimately drive success with internal and external customers.
  • Abide by all safety, quality, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance with various regulatory and internal system requirements.
  • Actively listens and communicates the facts clearly, concisely and timely - both in written and verbal format. Communication usually prompts action for internal and external parties. Communication is internal and external.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels, internal and external.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goals.

  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience working within aerospace or a similar technical field preferred
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project expertise
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Intimate knowledge of people management skills, mainly influence management and conflict resolution
  • General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems.
  • Exemplary verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.

  • This Program Manager requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance; therefore, you must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
  • This job interacts in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. It uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, and copier machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection (as required).
  • Temperature of the work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • Some travel may be required for this position (5-10%)
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8 hours, daily), walk consistently, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.
This position requires the ability to skillfully use measuring instruments, hand, and power tools
The employee may be required to lift, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds

Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000/year
