As a front-line Engineering Services Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for leading and managing a team of hourly facilities cast members (electricians, kitchen mechanics, HVAC technicians, plumbers, facility support crafts workers and generalists) in the day-to-day operations at Aulani Resort. You will provide oversight and direction for troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment and show quality of all facilities' assets. This role will act as a leader in the development and motivation of the team, practicing safety and ensuring high-quality performance while encouraging ownership and accountability.

This full-time, salaried position reports to the Director of Engineering & Services and will be working onsite at Aulani Resort on Oahu, Hawaii.

What will you do:

  • Supervise the engineering Leads and Cast Technicians
  • Responsible for interviewing, scheduling, training, development, coaching and counseling
  • Provide recommendations and conduct performance reviews
  • Resolve issues and recommend disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Implement and schedule all property and equipment PM programs in compliance with Disney standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations to ensure safety, guest and cast member satisfaction, to protect the assets and to maintain the resort in first class conditions.
  • Make productive and positive contributions to safety, service and departmental performance
  • Provide technical oversight and direction for the troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and show quality of the Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa facilities assets.
  • Develop a high level of teamwork and cooperation among various departments and with all leaders while managing safety, regulatory compliance and productivity.

Please apply if you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years management or supervisory experience in an engineering, maintenance environment.
  • Minimum of 2+ years within a hotel maintenance environment.
  • Experience in facilities and/or kitchen maintenance with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of HotSoS, or comparable software.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop management reports, accurately report information, and deliver projects on time and use various office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) and accounting programs
  • Ability to handle day-to-day & annual financial aspects of the business including labor costs and other expenses to adhere to budgets.
  • Ability to operate equipment, including company vehicles. Valid driver's license and clean driving record (no tickets/accidents/moving violations in the past 12 months)
  • Must be available to work evenings, overnight, holidays, weekends and other various shifts as needed

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

  • OSHA Safety Certification
  • HVAC Certification
  • Operational experience of large facilities equipment, chillers, boilers, cooling tower, heat exchangers, pumps

Education:

  • Required: Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent experience in the facilities, mechanical, and electrical fields
  • Preferred: BA/BS degree in an engineering or technical discipline

The hiring range for this position in Hawaii is $95,500 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
