What You’ll Do as a Highway Project Manager

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of highway transportation projects from scoping through final design and construction support.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and staffing to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead design strategy in collaboration with teams and clients to ensure alignment and seamless delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, permitting requirements, and quality standards.
  • Manage risk proactively and maintain strong financial performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders
  • Cultivate and strengthen client relationships to support successful project outcomes and repeat business.
  • Oversee project billing, client updates, QA/QC of deliverables, and project closeout.
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimates for new and existing clients.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
Requirements:

What You Bring, Your Expertise as a Highway Project Manager

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of progressive highway design and transportation project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation projects from preliminary design through PS&E and construction support.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and MicroStation (preferred)
  • Proven success in developing trusted, long-term client relationships
  • Demonstrated experience managing NYSDOT highway design projects and federally funded transportation programs.
  • Dedicated to fostering trusting relationships through collaboration, integrity and respect.
  • Deliver high-quality work using critical thinking, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational skills.

Salary Range $95,000-$130,000
