Job description

Environmental Engineer or (Geologist in Training)

Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level Environmental Engineer or GIT to assist in overseeing projects in our Milton, DE and Newark, DE offices. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Phase I and Phase II remediation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on recession-proof government EPA-funded projects across the state of Delaware.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct site evaluations under Delaware HSCA, Brownfields programs, and/or EPA Region III from pre-remedial assessments.
  • Conduct strategic project planning using a data quality objectives approach and develop focused planning documents.
  • Guide implementation and oversight of field work, including media sampling, installation of tooling methods, and coordination of laboratory method selection.
  • Provide data evaluations and statistics to support site-specific risk assessments.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of geologic and hydro-logic resource evaluations.
  • Perform geologic and hydro logic review.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental engineering or geology.
  • HAZWOPER trained.
  • Experience in Phase I and Phase II remediation.
  • Proficiency in environmental remediation, site assessment, and environmental compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field such as geology.
  • Preferred certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).
  • Knowledge in environmental science, hydrogeology, brownfield, and Superfund projects.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
