POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES
The EH&S Engineer is a key technical role supporting environmental compliance and broader EHS programs at Sun Chemical's Newport, DE site. This position's primary focus is assisting in the administration and maintenance of environmental permits and regulatory compliance programs across all media (air, water, waste, and chemical reporting).
The role operates independently in routine compliance activities but works under guidance of the EHS Team Leader for permitting strategy, regulatory interpretation, and agency interface.
This is a hands-on, field-engaged role supporting environmental compliance systems within a manufacturing environment.
Following establishment of foundational environmental competencies, the role expands to support site Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing preferred
    • Experience with environmental permitting and compliance programing
    • Strong technical and organizational skills
    • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
