Description
We are currently seeking an entry level Geologist, Scientist or Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career candidate to gain hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, regulatory compliance, and data analysis. You will work closely with senior team members to support environmental investigation and remediation projects across the state of Delaware. Your role will primarily involve field-based work and data documentation, with opportunities to grow into technical reporting and project support responsibilities.
The Role
โ€ข Support the implementation of site investigations, including soil, groundwater, soil vapor, surface water, and sediment sampling.
โ€ข Assist with the installation of groundwater and soil vapor monitoring wells under the direction of experienced staff.
โ€ข Collect and record detailed field data, including geological and environmental observations, using field logs and tablet-based tools.
โ€ข Participate in the preparation of site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and follow safety protocols during field activities.
โ€ข Coordinate with subcontractors, such as drillers and utility locators, during field activities.
โ€ข Assist in the organization and evaluation of environmental data, including hydrogeologic and analytical chemistry results.
โ€ข Contribute to the preparation of draft technical reports, figures, and data tables for review by project managers.
โ€ข Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety practices and continuous learning.
Who You Are
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or a related field (required).
โ€ข 0-2 years of experience in environmental consulting, geology, or a related discipline (internship experience a plus).
โ€ข Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
โ€ข Comfortable with outdoor work in various weather conditions and physical demands, including long field days.
โ€ข Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
โ€ข Basic computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
โ€ข Strong communication and teamwork skills with a desire to learn and contribute to meaningful environmental projects.
Preferred Training & Certifications
โ€ข OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (preferred; or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
โ€ข CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
