Description:

Accountant - Professional Services - Hiring for Late Fall 2026

About Us

All In One Accounting is a 7-time winner of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in the Twin Cities and one of the Best Places to Work in the Minneapolis area. Our purpose is simple: to make the lives of entrepreneurial and nonprofit leaders better. We do that by supporting profitable growth, protecting assets, and amplifying impact — bringing financial clarity and strategic leadership to the clients who need it most. We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means clear goals, strong accountability, and a team that executes with intention.

About the Role

We're seeking a sharp, client-oriented Accountant to support a portfolio of consulting firms, law practices, marketing agencies, staffing companies, and other expertise-driven businesses. Professional services accounting is its own discipline — retainer and hourly billing structures, utilization metrics, revenue recognition, and the cash flow cycles unique to service environments. You'll work as part of AIOA's delivery team model, contributing directly to client work while collaborating with your Controller and CFO.

Now About You

We hire for hungry, humble, and smart — and here's what that looks like at AIOA. Hungry means you bring initiative to every client, push beyond the task at hand, and look for ways to improve processes without being asked. Humble means you know when to escalate, you take feedback well, and you make your team better by being a reliable, low-ego contributor. Smart — in our world — means people-smart and situationally aware: you read clients well, communicate clearly, and know how to navigate complexity without creating noise. If that sounds like you, you'll thrive here.

Responsibilities & Expectations

• Execute day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of professional service clients, collaborating closely with your Controller and CFO

• Handle revenue recognition for retainer, hourly, and subscription billing structures

• Manage billing reconciliations and ensure invoicing accuracy across client engagements

• Manage accounts receivable and supports collection efforts on outstanding invoices

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts

• Manage accounts receivable and supports collection efforts on outstanding invoices

• Make month-end closing entries with proper documentation

• Monitor utilization metrics and communicate budget variances to your Controller and CFO

• Process client payroll including contractor versus employee classification compliance

• Maintain charts of accounts tailored to service-based business structures

• Utilize current processes and tools, including code red alerts, to proactively identify and prevent fraud throughout all client accounting processes

• Maintain robust internal controls across client accounts

• Meet or exceed billable hours goals while maintaining service excellence

Internal Responsibilities

• Complete all internal responsibilities including time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly initiatives

• Actively participate in All In One Accounting's Brand Ambassador program, representing our mission and values

• Uphold security practices to protect client assets effectively

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent experience

• Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment strongly preferred

• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with professional services or multi-client exposure

• Experience with retainer, hourly, and subscription billing structures and service-based revenue recognition

• Strong technical aptitude with QuickBooks Online and other accounting platforms

• Excellence in written and verbal communication

• Proven ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously with high attention to detail
