Job description

Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Minneapolis, MN (100% onsite, only local candidates in Minnesota will be eligible for consideration)

Compensation: $28.00 - $31/ Per Hour dependent on applicable experience

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and eligible for 401(k).

Addison Group is partnering with a growing and fast-paced organization to identify an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role offers exposure to multiple accounting functions, modern financial systems, and process improvement initiatives. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of invoices while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely entry
  • Support full-cycle accounts payable activities including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing
  • Review employee expenses and financial transactions for accuracy and proper allocation
  • Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation across multiple systems and platforms
  • Assist with accounting technology initiatives, system enhancements, and automation projects
  • Support data management efforts related to financial system implementations and process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice, payment, and accounting-related issues
  • Assist with vendor communication and account maintenance activities
  • Support accounting projects, reporting requests, and operational initiatives as needed
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts within the accounting function

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related experience
  • Experience processing invoices and supporting transactional accounting activities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience working with accounting software and cloud-based financial platforms
