What is an entrylevel implementation specialist?

Job description

Description:Benefits Implementation Specialist

CEHAS Plan Administrators, LLC • Plan Operations • Fully Remote (U.S.) • Full-Time, W2 • $60,000–$65,000/year • Paid weekly •

Reports to the Implementation Manager
Innovative. Transparent. Simple.

Why this role matters

CEHAS administers self-funded employee benefits for employers across the country — and implementation is where every one of those relationships is won or lost. When a group signs, you own their onboarding from executed agreement through their first successful payroll: building the plan correctly, coordinating the moving parts, and being the calm, reliable voice on the other end of the phone. You are the primary point of contact for brokers, employers, and plan sponsors during the exact window when they decide whether they trust us. This is not an entry-level seat — we’re looking for someone who already knows self-funded benefits and can walk into an implementation call with confidence on day one.

What you’ll own
  • Own the onboarding, start to finish. Carry each new client group from executed agreement through their first successful payroll — nothing dropped between the handshake and go-live.
  • Be the voice they count on. Serve as the primary contact for brokers, employers, and plan sponsors. Set expectations, send updates, and answer questions before they have to ask.
  • Build the plan correctly. Configure plan design, eligibility, and Section 125 provisions in our systems, and verify the details others miss — including 834 eligibility files.
  • Coordinate the moving parts. Line up the behind-the-scenes setup with our Payroll, Finance, and IT teams so the first cycle lands right the first time.
  • Keep the record clean. Maintain clear notes and status on every implementation, and hold strict confidentiality over protected health and payroll information.
  • Steady them through the first cycles. Stay close after go-live until the group runs on its own — and hands you the trust that turns into the next referral.
Who we’re looking for
  • You know the industry. Self-funded benefits, TPA operations, payroll, or brokerage — you have done this work and can speak to it credibly.
  • You’re great with people. Professional, warm, and steady — especially when a client is frustrated.
  • You’re genuinely careful. You catch the small stuff and follow through without being chased. In benefits, a typo is somebody’s claim.
  • You’re organized. Several clients, several deadlines, nothing falls through the cracks.
  • You communicate clearly. In writing and on a call.
  • You work independently. We are fully remote and we trust you.
Nice to have

Payroll implementation • Employee Navigator • level-funded / stop-loss • broker or producer license • intermediate Excel • Spanish. If the required list is you and this one isn’t — apply anyway.

Compensation & benefits

We administer benefits for a living, and hold our own program to the same standard.

  • $60,000–$65,000 base, depending on experience, paid weekly
  • $0 medical, dental & vision — CEHAS pays 100% of your employee-only premiums
  • $50,000 life & AD&D plus short- and long-term disability, all 100% company-paid
  • SIMPLE IRA with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 3%, available after one year of service
  • 15 days PTO (vacation, sick, and personal, used however you want) plus 10 paid holidays — we typically add Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve
  • Fully remote, gear provided, with a distributed team across the U.S.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years at a TPA, benefits brokerage, carrier, or self-funded plan administrator
  • Working knowledge of self-funded benefits, Section 125, SPDs, and eligibility/834 files
  • Experience as the primary contact for brokers, employer groups, or plan sponsors
  • A track record of catching the plan-setup details other people miss
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort guiding clients through a process
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private workspace during business hours
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
