Job description

Applicants currently certified as a Registered Behavior Technician or a Board Certified Autism Technician will receive a $500 bonus after 90 days of hire.
B.ehavioral & E.ducational S.trategies & T.raining (B.E.S.T.) has been serving children with autism and their families in the Central Valley since 1999. For an employment application and for more information about this position please visit our website at www.bestforautism.com.
We are looking for individuals to provide one-on-one behavioral treatment to children with autism. Our services are in-home, at school, as well as center-based. We provide services to children in Stanislaus, Sacramento Sutter, and San Joaquin Counties.

The ideal candidate for this position must be:
-Organized and independent enough to meet the demands working away from an office requires
-Confident, mature, professional
-Able to follow procedures to the letter, can take accurate data, and are motivating teachers to children with special needs
-Feel confident dealing with disruptive or aggressive behaviors while working alone with a child in their home environment
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition, the individual must be punctual and have reliable means of transportation to work.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent for entry level position
  • Must have BA/BS degree for experienced level position.
  • Higher starting pay is available to candidates with a BA/BS degree.
  • Some experience working with children is preferred but not required
  • Must be willing to become a certified Behavior Technician within 90 days of hire
  • Training and certification fees provided by company
  • Tuberculosis clearance
  • Provide record of immunization to Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Chicken Pox (Varicella Zoster) & Whooping Cough (Pertussis)
  • Must be fluent in English (spoken/written)
  • Department of Justice/Livescan fingerprint clearance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have proof of auto insurance (name must be on policy)
  • Must have a clean driving record (MVR required)
  • Must be able to access a computer and the internet from a location other than the center
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and supervisors
  • Ability to plan, set-priorities, and juggle multiple tasks while remaining flexible to changing schedules and priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to speak and present effectively to clients and clients' families
  • Ability to execute duties with minimal direction
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Occasionally move up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally lift 50 pounds unaided
  • Sit on the floor for up to three hour periods at a time while moving from a sitting (on floor) to standing position 6-12 times per hour
  • Must be able to react quickly to client escape behaviors
  • Must be able to run quickly to keep up with an escaping client
  • Work in homes with pets
  • Drive to and from 2-3 locations per day for a maximum of an hour and a half at a time
