Supervisor/Reports To: Sara Coots

The Family and New Student Connections Content Specialist supports the online presence and engagement for Family Connections, FirstYear Experience, and SecondYear Experience programs. This role assists with content creation, social media management, analytics, and multimedia to inform and engage students, families, alumni, and the broader community.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Create and curate engaging content for social platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, CampusGroups, CampusESP) - CSD, CT, CTR, T
  2. Monitor and manage department social accounts; review comments, DMs, likes, stories, and newsletters with the Director - C, P, TW
  3. Maintain a content calendar aligned to the academic calendar and audience needs - CT, L, P, T
  4. Use analytics to track engagement and reach; recommend improvements based on insights - CSD, P, T
  5. Capture and edit photos and video for multimedia posts - CTR, P, T
  6. Collaborate with departments, student orgs, and partners to promote events and initiatives - CSD, C, CTR, P, TW
  7. Maintain accurate contact lists and mailing databases - C, TW, T

Education Requirements: Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; enrolled fulltime as a student.

Work Schedule: Flexible to accommodate class schedule; must comply with university student employment hour limits.

Work Conditions: Office and event environments; variable noise/light; occasional evening/weekend social coverage.

Physical Demands: Keyboarding; reaching/handling; occasional lifting/carrying of media equipment up to 20 lbs.
